Thanks for your willingness to assess your friend or colleague. The inventory consists of 111 action and behavior-based questions that are designed to measure 34 competencies among 10 leadership dimensions:

integrity, family life, missional engagement, personal spiritual dynamics, gospel communication, emotional stability, managerial courage, visioning capacity, learning agility and expectancy of results.

The inventory also includes 31 actions and attitudinal questions designed to evaluate behaviors that may hinder or destroy effectiveness.

CLI allows for self appraisal and feedback from leaders, peers, and disciples. Particular ratings of references are treated confidentially and not disclosed to the candidate.

Instructions

Be assured that all observer responses are held in strict confidence.  Consider the following:

  • As you read each question, mentally insert the participant’s name where personal pronouns appear.
  • As you evaluate the participant, do not be unduly influenced by isolated or recent events; rather concentrate on overall performance during the time you observed him.
  • After considering each statement, select the numerical rating that best corresponds to evidence you see of that quality in the participant. Do not allow the rating given on one item to influence other ratings.
  • Please use the following 5-point response scale to indicate the extent to which the statement is true of the participant.

                        5 = Truly exceptional
                        4 = Very strong
                        3 = Well demonstrated
                        2 = Needs improvement
                        1 = Weakness
